Default Replacement Knock Sensor

Im replacing the engine on a 99 accord with a JDM one and broke the stupid knock sensor! The one on the JDM engine was broken too! Anways, the sensor from the dealer is $120 while I see ones on ebay starting at $13. Doesnt look like there's much to this little sensor and Im thinking, could the aftermarket one be much worse than the oem one that broke so easily? I buy alot of oem parts but I may make an exception on this. what does everyone else think? Thanks Ray

Default Re: Replacement Knock Sensor

I tried the ebay knock sensor and wont do it again. First off I didnt pay attention and it came from hong kong and took 3 weeks to get here. When it arrived I put it in and the plug seperated from the sensor, didnt brake just fell apart. It looked ok so I glued it back together and it didnt work. So I made my own from a post here on honda tech from the civic section I think the title is diy knock sensor. I pass inspection and car drives fine, I know its not perfect but it will get you by till you find a oem one at the right price.
