Default Failed Sensor

My knock sensor or the wires relating to it just went out today.
I know it's not good to drive with out the sensor, but how bad is it to drive with it out of commission for a few days??

(It's possibly been partially out for a few months, I had the CEL before but my dad deleted the code.)

Anyone know a place to get an OEM cheaper than $160?

Try the junkyard, if theres one next to you. I would just go with a chipped p28, doesnt use a knock sensor, or get your ecu chipped and delete knock sensor. i think it would be cheaper.

The knock sensor is there for a reason. I suggest you replace it and be on your way.

Yeah, I agree.
If it's not there then it could possibly knock through the block/head under high revs or something.

Anyways, how bad is it to drive with it out for a few days until I can get it replaced?

youll be fine as long as you dont have any mechanical problems or arnt using the wrong octane fuel
cars have ran for years with out them its just a percaution that automakers put on the vehicle to minimize emissions and engine damage under a "knock" condition

I've driven without a knock sensor for a week, and nothing happen, other than CEL being on. Honda knock sensors are fragile and weak, I've broken many knock sensor when swapping motors, or changing out intake manifold, i got tired of it and just got my ecu chipped without a knock sensor to save me money, next time if i were to break one.

Well, the rpm's get really low.
And it feels like there's a loss of power.

Those reasons alone make me wanna fix it.
