No need to start anew thread. Continue from the old.

K well nobody has responded I think the thread is dead or something. Is there a more tech related site i should know about?? Seems like someone on here could help me out i just want to know if there is anything i need to know about or look out for before I attempt to do this in the snow..
There is no timetable for assistance in these forums. Everyone volunteers and helps when they can or are able. To top it off it is the weekend. Your original thread is less than 24hours old. Don't see how that can be qualified as dead.
If you really need assistance that promptly you need to take your car to a mechanic.

Or
you can use the advanced search and Google like I just did to find people that have asked the same question in the past.
Here's one that is almost 10years old.

I hate to add to a thread that`s prob going to get locked but, I have gone through about three steering racks since last January. One went because one of the boots had a tear and PS fluid was leaking out, had to keeping filling it up everyother day. Also, if you have had an aligment and wheel balance, and once you hit about 55 and your steering wheel starts to vibrate, than that`s also a good sign it`s on it`s way out.

Blacknight thanks for the response. 3 racks in the last year? Jeeze dude do you know why? are you running big wheels? I think that stresses these front ends a lot because they come with 14s from the factory and the tie rods and stuff are soo small. Yeah here's the weird thing, the steering is really tight, and it acts at first like it is following the road (Because the roads are real bad up here especially right now, a "flat" road doesn't exist..they are all crowned) but then it doesn't come out of it and you have to fight it to keep it straight. I definitely feel there there is too much pressure nescessary to drive the car. i think i read somewhere the wheel should turn with 3.3 pounds of force or something And i'm like fighting the wheel to keep it straight. This is at 55 by the way. Would this be a sign?? PS It's manual steering. and its got 17" wheels on it. I do not have the stock ones if i did i would see if that helped.
grumblemark thanks for the FWD i read that post still need more info tho. thought the weekends would be more popular but i guess not, i will try to be more patient lol..
