Default My integra will literally shock you...

94 ls. Second owner. Mostly stock engine/bay with the exception of bolt-ons.

The car runs great. But when I start it, open the door and grab the door frame to close the door, it shocks the hell out of my hand. A bit more than the average static shock you get at home. It only happens when the car is running, or shortly after turning the car off.

There is no car audio in the car (deck, speakers, amp, subs, capac, nothing). No HID kit, or anything aftermarket electrical. No VISIBLE/exposed wires. No popped fuses, constant 12.3-14.3 voltage.

What could this be? Improper grounding to the frame?
P.S. The problem is constant, accurate, and like clockwork.

I have heard (on Click an Clack-NPR) that some tires have a compound that builds up static electricity over time. I don't know about those guys sometimes. They might be on to something.

i agree. you should really look into under dash wiring. if your car has an alarm, you should check that first. My old car did the same thing. it was cause by a hackjob alarm install.

Mine did that as long as I had an open ground in my door wiring harness.

Ditto the alarm. Go get a new one put in correctly. If you have one...you never specified.

Don't be surprised. This is an integra forum. I like integras. Haha.

My two integras.

My old del sol for you all to laugh at.

White one doesn't have tags/insurance. I don't drive it much. Tinkering with it at the moment and the half black, half green one has hids.

Furthermore. I pulled the alarm today. It was pretty jerry rigged. No shocking, but am wondering if it's coincidental. I'll confirm tomorrow. Ty for all the info and help also.
