Quick push button start question
96 hatch, putting push button start in. Going to get the crimp splices for the constant and ignition wires, but going to cut the start wire so the key won't start the car anymore. Anyways, just wondering where or if I need to add a inline fuse. Not sure where the fuse needs to be in accordance to the relay and push button, since I am adding another load in the circuit (the led light button). Thanks for the advice, just don't want to be frying any circuits without a circuit protector. I would greatly appreciate the advice.

Makes sense for the ignition and constant 12v wires, so that if something goes bad with the push button it would pop the fuse before reaching to the splice into the regular harness. What about the with the starter wire since I am actually cutting it and splicing? That particular circuit amperage is partially the amps coming from the ignition switch, so since the push button is replacing that is that what you mean by it already being fused? Might i need to compensate if the push button and original ignition switch's amperage ratings are differet? Thanks again just trying to clariy.

thats what i plan on doing, the push button has a relay on the back which is wired to ignition wire, constant, and the starter wire. so what amp fuse should i get, 40 amp for the 40 amp starting circuit or just the required amperage for the button?
if you have it running through a realy you wont need a 40amp fuse.. I would just throw a 10-20amp fuse in there and call it a day.. what do you mean there is a relay on the back of the switch that doesnt make any sense?
Sorry worded that wrong, a relay comes with the switch and is located down stream behind it. That makes sense with the relay not needing as high fuse rating. Lastly, since there are 2 ignition wires hooked up to original ign switch, but olny one coming from the relay of the push button do I need to split that into two so I can crimp/splice into ign 1 and ign 2 wires
