Default Car won't start, but can push start.

Guys,

Installed some fog lights today. I fed them off of my low beams. They worked fine, but now my car won't start. However, I can push start it (it's a manual.) obviously it's an electrical problem, but I have very little knowledge in that field. Please help!

Is it a stock 96 Civic?

Complete stock. The main relay clicks and then fuel pump apparently works, otherwise it wouldnt push start and keep running. Pretty bummed here.

The red arrow points to a rubber stopper. Has it fallen out?

Had the rubber grommet problem in my eg hatch. A bolt and a couple washer will solve it.

If this helps the diagnosis, before I fed off of the low beam wires, I tried another way of hooking up the fog lights. The instructions in the box called for using a wire that connects from the battery to a fuse and then from the fuse to a on or off switch. Well, after hooking it all up, the lights wouldn't work, but the wire from the battery to the fuse and from the fuse to the switch got very hot and started smoking.

I obviously royally ****ed myself on this. so after the smoking, I decided to feed it off of the low beams. Lights work fine, but the damn car won't start on its own.

You were right. The rubber piece was off so I Pushed the pedal switch in with my finger and started the car. Thanks a lot, this place really helps.

If that doesn't fix it. Check your engine grounds

That was it. Man that was easy! Unfortunately though Today I was driving my 96 honda civic on the highway and it was getting up to almost 6k rpms just to get to about 65mph. All of a sudden the rpms went up and there was no power to the wheels (kind of like having the clutch pedal pushed and revving the engine). I pulled off and shut off the car. It wont start back up and the clutch pedal has little resistance when I push it and I can also shift through the gears without pressing the clutch. So my question is, should I put a new clutch kit in, and if I need to, is that all that will need to be put in?
