Default Slave/Master cylinder help....

My brothers car...a 92 honda prelude...clutch pedal started just going to the floor with no effort and sticking there...ok sooo he got it towed to a mechanic and they told him its the slave and master cyl that are bad.

My question is...would both of these go out at the same time or could something happen to make them both go out at the same time?? I've never had it happen its usually one or the other, right??...sounds fishy!?!? He doesn't have any mechanical experience so getting him to check it out is pretty much out of the question and I am 50 miles away.

It's always good to replace both at the same time. Sounds like good advice

Well he went ahead and bought both parts and got it towed back to his house...so I guess I am just about to ride over there and fix it for him.

THANKS!

Mine did that awhile back, i noticed the cylinder went dry....filled it up made it back home. and noticed the Slave was leaking....so i replaced just that. Came back like 5 months later...so i replaced the Master. Haven't had the problem since, wish i would of just replaced both the first time around, cause the feeling of pressing your clutch down and it staying to the floor is not very fun lol.

Always best to replace both at the same time, seen where only 1 was replaced and the other blew while bleeding.

REPLACE REPLACE REPLACE....i had to replace both after going through 2 clutch master cylinder thinking that it was the issue, then 2 brake boosters as well, even thought it might have been my brake lines..changed them too...then slave went out..didnt figure it out because of the other stuff on my mind..finally i saw the leak from the slave cylinder and replaced it...PAIN PAIN PAIN...she runs awesome now after my trial and errors..a'las all the parts are NEW..so good job for me!!!
