What do you mean by "ICU" - there might be another common name for what you're looking for.

Help me help you

Didn't know if you meant ECU, ICM, etc. ICU isn't a really common problem/discussion in this forum, so sorry for my brainfart.

What exact year/make/model?

...and just curious why are you looking for the Integrated Control Unit? Having a problem?

The ICU on 92-00 civics and 94-01 integras is on the back side of the cabin fuse box. It's plugged into the fuse box. It's a white square about the size of a pack of cigarettes. I think it's there on DA's as well.

I have one or two for sale, BTW.

The Integrated Control Unit is mounted on the back of the under-dash fuse box. It's about the size of a pack if cigarettes and can be a pain in the butt to remove.

Take your kick panel off. Remove the 10mm bolt that holds your fuse box in place so you can get behind it easier. You'll need to take the plug out of the ICU which isn't too hard to do. It's also helpful to remove the other plugs from the back of the fuse box so you can get better access to it. Once you've got them out, use a flat blade screwdriver and start gently prying from one side, then the opposite side, and keep at it a little bit at a time until it finally comes out. It's a real PITA, but it will come out. You'll be lying upside down under the dash for awhile, so put some padding on the floor and maybe a flashlight so you can see what you're doing.

He's having an issue with his intermittent wipers. Those are controlled by the ICU.

Stop replacing parts at random. Test the wiper switch on the steering column. Then do the relevant ICU input tests described in the service manual.

Again, stop replacing parts at random. You don't need to ask questions on a tech forum if this is your chosen method for fixing problems.

How do you know your ICU is bad? Did you do the ICU input tests for the intermittent wipers that I posted? The problem could also be a bad wire or even a bad wiper motor.

So you're not entirely sure that the ICU is bad, right?
