Default Taillight question...

Has anybody ever taken apart an oem taillight? Just wondering if its the same as a headlight ya know the whole bake them on the oven to pullin apart.If someone has a link are has done this give me a holla thanx.

Tryin to get all the gunk out of them like by the clear part of the back up light has got like some mold in it and you can see dirty in there from over the years.Just tryin to clean them up as best I can and I have down time on the car because it is getting painted right now.

I have a spare one with a hole in it I'm probably going to try to heat gun open tomorrow..

Just like headlights, put them in the oven to soften the adhesive that holds the lens on.
Then pry apart carefully.

i would apply a little more silicone to the seal when you are putting them back together

Just an update on this.....250 degrees for 15 min. works like a champ. reward brand new looking taillights no dirt,no crap on the inside just new looking totallly worth IMO..here's some pics. really don't them justice,but trust me they look good I'll put more pics. up when I put them back together and let you guys know how that turns out.

Just an update on this I got them cleared and put back together and on the car this weekend,the pics. don't do them justice they really look brand new again so gald I did this it was worth it.
