Default ls/vtec won't idle, runs rough.

hello all, i have a 97 ex civic that had a 99 odba GSR swap in it that had a valve burn up, i bought an odb1 ls/vtec to put in (pr3 head, b18b1 block) , i swapped the TB, injectors, alternator and dizzy from the GSR over, i'm running a phearable.net odb1 chipped computer with jumper harness, the motor barely idles, has no power and runs like a subaru, flashed the code and its one quick flash, no second o2, no knock sensor plugged in (no place at the back of the block) no cpk (none on oil pump, was told again doesn't look for it) new spark plugs, checked all my connections, swapped the two sensors on the tb over but i had them right when i swapped it was worse. any ideas are greatly appreciated. timing seems dead on with LS crank pulley.

That subaru sound is definitely the ckp sensor you didn't change any wires or did you? If the obd2a gsr motor had it you need to get the obd1 dizzy that has the ckp internally. get the step down harness for the dizzy.

sounds like a misfire, did you do a valve adjustment, a slightly tight valve can cause low compression.

did a valve adjust, did a compression test, 0 psi on cyl 4, replaced headgasket and swapped head onto my gsr block *poor mans r* still no compression, doing valves in the b16 this weekend.

are you checking clearances with the lobes facing up on that cylinder? what are your clearance measurements now?

leakdown test will give you better results if you have one.
