Yea its a jdm d15, the jdm d15 has a d15 stamp on it, unlike usdm motors for instance both my blocks said d15b2 and d15b7. If you can pick it up for a steal and just want to drop it in then its a great choice. However with it being a jdm motor youl proly want to run the correct ecu and it may be harder to track down. all in all any stock d series is great for slamming in and running it.
good luck man I hope Iv helped out

It also doesn't have vtec on the valve cover. Here's some pics the seller sent me To help identify it

Ya I wouldnt do it.. If I remember correctly they are a wiring nightmare.. Dseries.org might be able to help out more

I would just do a simple d16z6 or an Ls swap can be had for cheap

Anyone who knows anything about D-series will know that's non-VTEC.

I mean, look at it. Valve cover is a BLATANT giveaway.

in this case it does. look at where the plug wires are. the valve cover is actually a dead giveaway it isn't a vtec motor.

Yes actually they do. The valve cover on the engine pictured tell us that it's an '88 - '95 Non-vtec D-series engine because of the plug wires on the back.

Thanks for being a dick about it when you didn't even pay attention

I bought a JDM D15B non-VTEC when I had my red CRX, dropped it in. Was a good replacement for the D15B2, ran like a D16A6.

Had to make a block off plate for the fuel pump (Pretty sure all notec D15B's have a fuel pump hole) but otherwise was fine. Not really that bad of a motor, but if I was going to buy a new motor I'd get a D16 of any sort over any D15 (Except a D15Z1, those things are turbo monsters with a gaurd and some ARP studs with a Z6 head swap).
