H23a compression test
Hi All, I recently did a compression test on my 92 si because I was losing a lot of low end torque. Plus my car seemed to be running really rough. The results of the compression test (plugs 1-4) are 120, 210, 195, 190. What is the range that i should be getting for a good engine? What does the low compression on cylinder 1 mean? Does this mean I need a new engine or would it be worth while to just rebuild my engine? Any help would be great..thanks
ouch #1 is really low. they should be within 20psi or so of each other. 215 is what i have and 209 is my lowest. could be a head gasket but probaly your rings possible its your valvetrain too. if u have money get some crower rods, JE pisonts, and build that baby. 120 is really low.
how do you do a compression test? this isnterests me. my lude nas 190,000kilometers on the clock. and I'd love to know if Im losing power, since I bought the car it feels like I may have lost a bit. thought it could be the extra wieght and the high of the car or maybe even me getting used to the speed of it??
