Recently my idle has been starting high then dropping low and my car didn't pass smog. I have an 89 prelude 2.0 si fuel injected. I have been looking through some threads and I have and googling, but I have no idea what either of these look like on my car, or what I will need to clean them. (one thread had pics but the images were broken links) I am a complete noob with cars, but my dad is not, so I will at least have help in attempting this. (even he said that he never heard of an iac valve being able to be cleaned and the autozone guy agreed with him) Thank you.

edit: replaced the pcv today and o2 sensors today.

 

You can easlily clean it just get brake fluid and let dry the iacv is usually located in the back of the intake mani or in front of the intake mani also with you having an idle problem check for vac leaks

 

If You have still having Idle issue I have a Great working IACV for a H22(Link in Signature)

On the H22 it is located in the Front of the Intake manifold,Best of luck;Matt.

 

thanks for the replies. we were able to locate the iacv and the throttle body and clean both of them. we also adjusted the idle with one of those rpm guns. the car is running very nicely and i am hoping to pass smog in a day or two.
