JDM D15B non vtec specs??
so the HF crx I just picked up has had a motor change sometime in it's life. no longer has the d15b6 hf 8valve, instead has the jdm d15b non vtec 16 valve motor. I was able to find out all the horse and tq specs, bore and stroke is supposed to be 75x84.5.. not sure if that is correct....
what I am curious about tho: is this D15B set up like the D15B vtec motor(d15 block, d16 crank and rods, and odd short pistons???
I found a post on some old forum via google about it. the guys were saying it's a good motor to make a light street build on. even tho it originally was dual carbed.. it still made 106hp, and is supposed to be great with a z6 head swap?? does anyone know much about this motor?? thanks in advance -kay

Block is identical to D15B1/D15B2/D15B7/D15B8, head is a unique casting but only includes the cutout for a manual fuel pump (the area exists on USDM D15Bx/D16A6 heads but isn't cut out after molding) otherwise is identical to D15B1/D15B2/D15B7/D16A6 (Note: D16A6 block uses bigger crank journals, D15B8 head is 8 valve, that is why A6 head is the same and B8 block is the same but other parts of said engines are different) but camshaft includes fuel pump lobe near dizzy.
Dropped one in a CRX DX with Si MPFI mani and 190cc HF injectors, ran like it was a D16A6 for sure, little more pep than the D15B2, but that could be because the engine was fresh, just came off the truck before we put it in.
You've BASICALLY got yourself a D15B2 with a hole in the head.
