hey guys ive got a 98 civic dx coupe with a d16y7 motor and i recently snagged a d16z6 full motor(with intake mani/vtec solenoid/dizzy) with a spun bearing. I was wondering what were the required parts i need to run the z6 head on my d16y7? i was gonna go ahead and order arp headstuds and a timing belt but for which motor do i order them for? the z6 or y7? also can i use the d16y7 wiring harness and just plug in a odb2a to 0bd1 harness adapter and just wire in vtec, and obviously run a p28 ecu?

Also can i reuse the y7 injectors? i cant see that being an issue but i just wanna make sure.

 

also, will my 0bd2 engine wiring harness plug into all the sensors on the z6 manifold?

You can use the Y7 harness but you'll need to do a few things. Namely the IACV will have to be converted to 2 wire. The intake air temp sensor will need to be put in the intake arm or connector swapped over to the round OBD1 style. You'll have to rig the Y7 distributor to work. The Y7 injectors should not be used as they are not 240cc but 190cc. You can remove the blue plug out of the center of the OBD2 injector plug and it'll plug into the Z6's injectors. And then wire up VTEC.
