Hello.

Put a d16z6 engine into a 99 coupe replaced the y7.
Now its time for wiring. Can I use d16y7 engine loom on d16z6? I think I can but looking at the 2 looms yesterday, the z6 obd1 loom has way less connectors compared to the original y7 loom and engine. Basically, what connectors are not needed from the obd2b loom to make the z6 work. Plus I have a p28 ecu with a rywire adapter harness to plug the y7 plugs into the p28 (checked they fit fine and push in).
Ultimately I am after a whole wiring diagram to eliminate what connectors are not needed.
Is the y7 dizzy compatible with the d16z6.
Injectors I will swap over and use the y7 injectors as they plug into the loom compared to the z6 injectors which don't fit the y7 loom.

Starting to answer my own questions.
I'm looking for a pin out of an p28 ecu so I can manually add the vtec wire to solenoid from ecu for vtec engagement (eco vtec I believe).
Main concern is dizzy. The y7 dizzy doesn't 100% line all 3 bolts up. How would I get around it? What dizzy would work? I would no doubt probably end up answering my own question in the future just thought someone out there has probably done a d16y7 to d16z6 swap and knows what's what to go where.

Car wouldn't start. Got me thinking dizzy firing order is off but now it wont turn over at all could be immobiliser cut in. Need help asap

injectors, need 240cc or z6, y7 are only 170cc I think, need y7 guts in z6 distributor or z6 dizzy n jumper n you need p28 ecu with obd1 jumper. Or read other threads here. Best of luck. Lmk if you get er done!
