I am replacing the clutch on my 98 LS. I can't get the transmission to seperate from the engine. I have all the bolts removed (starter, flywheel cover, 17mm) and the transmission mounts removed. I tried lowering the engine and transmission down but it won't serperate. Any suggestions or tips for getting the transmission off the engine?

 

Did you remove carrier bearing on the back of the block for the drivers side axle, did you remove either of the axles?

 

Did u remoce the 2 support brackets that bolt up to the engine n tranny?slave cyliner?axles?theirs only so much **** you can forget to take off

 

Are you positive you have all the bolts out?

 

I checked everything again and I remove the wrong starter bolt. The transmission started to seperate from the engine as soon as I started to loosen the lower starter bolt. Thanks for the help. Now I just have to get input shaft lined up to reinstall the transmission.
