Default Anything I should look out for?

Hey everybody, another question I have.

Is there anything I should look out for on my 98 LS? My other vehicle is an 05 Titan, and there are so many things prone to break unless you replace them before it happens. For example, the rear end would detonate, the exhaust manifolds cracked, radiator leaks, rotors would warp. All unless you would replace them first.

Is there anything on my car I should get out of the way now, and not waste my time later on?

Not much, just normal wear and tear that cars this old get. I would just replace all suspension/handling related bushings, brake rotors/pads, cap/rotor/plugs/wires. Fluids. Seafoam the bitch. And bam! Perfect DD.

I went in looking or an integra knowing they are going to have a TON of milage, what mattered most to me is the interior is good body is straigt and title is clean.

The wear and tear stuff is ok with me, that give me bargining room to lower the asking price more then usual.

OK, well it has been in an accident before, and has a salvage title, the interior is damn near perfect with 150k, we've done oil change, tranny service, new plugs and wires, new airfilter, new distributor cap and rotor, its getting new paint soon, need to check the brakes, and I've never done the seafoam or anything like that, ill try it out. Thanks guys!

Salvage title? That car may have frame damage then. Unless you are getting it for a deal I wouldn't even look twice at it. Although sometimes, some salvage cars are in better condition than clean title cars, but I wouldn't risk it. But I guess you already bought it, didn't you? Good luck getting insurance for it lol.

Everything is said and done, insurance is no problem, actually cheap, and everything was fixed when we bought it.

Insurance was cheap cause they wont cover **** if you get in an accident. Basically you are paying them just to say it's insured so it's legal to drive.

The integra service manual has a timeframe with preventative maintenance that MUST be done.

Eg: Bleeding brakes every xx,000 miles, timing belt every 100,000 miles, etc.

Your best bet is to put on a set of coveralls and look around, inspect, etc.

The two most important things I think when you get a new car is:
Tires and BRAKES!

Check those immediately. Stopping is most important, for your own safety. Get a treadmeter, and grab yourself a vernier caliper and measure ur rotor thickness and pad thickness all around.

You don't need a treadmeter, just need a penny, tread as well as brakes are measured in 32nds of an inch, the outside edge of the penny above abe, to the top of abe's head, is 2/32nds, which is the lowest you want a tire to be. Also the fact that most tires have tread wear bars. Not disagreeing with you, just explaining a cheap and easy way to check tread. Aslo brake pads should not be lower than 2/32nds.

Oh and timing belts should be changed every 60k miles. I know you were just throwing out numbers as an example, I'm just letting this guy know.
