Default Rotor "cracking" question

So, what do you guys think? I can't catch my fingernail in them, but the other side doesn't have these.

Think NAPA will replace it even though I don't have the receipt? They had some sorta longish warranty. They were the "mid-grade" priced rotors.

Does napa take any information from you when you purchase something?

If so then they should be able to look it up in their computer.

some places will auctually sell lifetime warrantes on the brakes.

I would find out before I took them off my car though as to weather they will replace them or not.

It dosent look that bad, have you noticed any difference in the stopping of your car?

No, braking is the same, I would just rather not have the rotors crack/explode while I'm autocrossing or braking down a hill, etc.

Looks like I will be giving NAPA a call...

why?? honestly, on stock calipers. You cant go wrong with blanks, they provide the best braking. Powerslots warp due to their slotting and cross drilling. Just get another set of blanks until you do a full brake upgrade and even at that you may still prefer to go with blanks.

Agreed... blanks are fine... I need all the swept area I can get with these little *** brakes.

I'd upgrade but I'm running 14" wheels and not much fits but GSR rotors and I don't feel like upgrading my knuckles and whatnot.

After numerous auto-x and driving around for more than a year I havent had that problem on mine, no warping, cracking, anything. I also know many people that have not experienced this problem, you do know that the rotors are made by brembo. I am not saying that it would never happen but I don't belive its that common of a problem.

I have noticed less brake dust on the wheels and even if there is no stopping difference the absence of brake dust is worth the extra money.

I would get those things changed ASAP, at any cost. A pair of rotors will cost you roughly 50 bux. Cheap compared to a serious accident, your life, or lives of others.

i'm almost positive they provide a warranty.. no one would go to them if they didn't. unless you installed them yourself they might not come with one.

If you try to get these covered under warranty, don't tell them that you auto-x. Any form of "racing" will most likely void your warranty.

FWIW, they replaced them free of charge.

NAPA.

you should see some of the rotors in the RR/AX forum, Willard and honda318dx are the two guys who I'm thinking have real bad ones.

Yeah, they just looked up rotor purchases back when I bought 'em and found the ones I bought.

I've seen those ITR guys' rotors... They're known as regulars at the local Autozones in their town. LOL. Warranties are cool.
