Default auto to manual worth it??

Bought a '00 EK hatch. My question is since my EK is not in great condition id never be able to trade equally for a manual 2000 Ek so would it be worth it for me to do an auto to manual swap? I have some connections at junkyard to maybe grab a b18b and my dad does bodywork so the body and paint would be easy (Championship white). Just wondering because from what ive seen a 1,000$ is cheap as hell to get a 2000 Ek hatch. So by time im done if spend 2 grand on swap and painting car with my dad, itd be like buying a champ white '00 Ek with b18 swap for 3 grand which sounds good. Anyone know someone in NJ area that does auto to manual swaps?? Thanx

YES DO IT, I did it on my Db. I was in the same boat, bought the car because the interior was minty fresh and the body was 8.8/10. Paid $1900 for it and had about $575 in the 5 speed conversion. I took my time doing it and overall it took me about 10-11 hrs. It really was worth it.
