Default 91 civic DX wont start Help!! Oil in spark plug holes?

Wuts going on guys... Having issues with my 91 civic.. It was running perfectly fine but i went out of town and the car wasn’t used for about 5 days i went to start the car and it did not start... thought i needed gas but it wasn’t, i pulled the spark plug wires off and noticed there was oil in my spark plug holes 2 and 4 i pulled my valve cover off cleaned the oil off the spark plug and wires but it still won’t crank? Any suggestion can it be my wires plugs went bad? Or my distributor? Car was running fine parked it and now it won’t start. Thanks for the help.

Since it sat for a few days, and won't crank, have you checked the battery? Make sure it has a good charge.

do you hear the fuel pump prime? u should hear it when u turn the key on, does ur mail relay click 2 times when u turn the key? i know it sounds different, but maybe ur map sensor, i put a b18a1 in my hatch and forgot to hook up the map sensor and the fuel pump would not kick on

the oil in the plug tubes is either from the valve cover seals or the rocker assembly seals. most likely the rocker assembly seals.

Yea i check my valve covers seals and they need to be replaced.. But would that prevent my car from starting if the spark plug was full of oil ? i cleaned it out but still nothing?

When you turn the key to the second position all the dummy lights will turn on for a sec. You'll hear a whirling (fuel pump priming) and a click in the dash (main relay) by the time the CEL turns off. I had my valve seals go bad and was leaking oil on all my spark plugs almost all summer. I was too busy to fix it at the time, so unless it's dumping oil onto them, you should start. Can you give us a better description as far as does it turn over or does nothing? Do you have spark? If it turns over, maybe try a compression test. Alittle more info would be helpfull.

After re-reading your original post it is a little confusing.

Does the car not crank? or does it crank, but not start?

Ok, now this is kindda hard to explain but after you check and listen to the fuel pump and make sure it's priming, does the engine sound like it's firing? Does it sound any different from when it used to start? I know when my timing belt slipped two months ago the engine would turn over but it didnt have that thumping sound as if it wasnt firing but I had spark. Turned out it was my timing belt slipped on my exhaust cam. Another way to tell is to obviously look at the cam when the motor is at TDC or if it back fires. That is just a thought! Since I had a similar situation. I'm not trying to put something in your head. But tell us what you find out tonight and hopefully we can help you alittle better.
