Default NorthWest Time trials?

I was searching but i must fail at it because i was not able to find much info on if there are any up here...

Did a track day this year in my car and loved it. Would like to get into some kind of racing, but i don't want to turn my car into a full on race car.

I am not sure what my car even qualify's for any kind of class, being a turbo car i am sure i get thrown into the highest class there is...

I would like to know if there are any races or any kind of time trials that allow someone to take their own car out (kind of like a track day) and race against other people? or against the clock?

I will be doing MANY track days this year with my boss!

Any help would be great.

Well that answers that!

Kind of a bummer there isn't anything @ Portland... The likely hood of driving up to seattle, racing and then driving back in the same car with no problems are slim for me lol...

Do you know if Portland has anything?

Lots of track days and such planned for Ridge Motorsports Park in Shelton WA. Their callender is full of events. Its always good to see people willing to bring their car out to the track. Lots of people with highly modded street cars don't, and all that potential for a great track car and the experience gained never happens. The clubs that run the events are great and are always there to help. If the modded street daily driver crowd were to try some track time they would not be disappointed. Its legal, safe, the people are great and its hella fun! Bring all the people you can to keep the interest in racing alive!! Good times.

Yeah i would like to head to that track for sure! I have been hearing cool things about it and have watched all the videos of cars going around it and it looks like a very fun track.

I did an auto X a few years ago and it was just not fun for a car like mine, big turbo and short track just didn't work out so well. Did a track day this year at PIR and it seemed to do just fine.

Defiantly will be taking my car out again, looking into new tires right now.

PIR doesnt have anything such equivalent to Time Trials events unfortunately, I wish they did. There was supposed to be a Redline Time Attack event there this past September but it was cancelled.

They do however host several track days at PIR but they are not timed. If you wanted to keep track of your own lap times the new Aim Solo is a pretty good bang for the buck without having to step up to a full on data acquisition system.

I am getting a new Contour GPS camera this xmas, i am hoping the GPS on it is good enough to track lap times and what not? lol time will tell.

If my car doesn't break or blow up by the time spring comes around for more track days i will be out there. Need to work on the cooling with the car and fuel system this winter since it started to overheat at the track this last time. Already have a new radiator core that i am going to use to make a new one so i hope that helps. It was way fun..

The refresh rate is "up to four times a second". Some of the Dataloggers are 20 times per second.

There are a few forum regulars (such as Powerneedy) that you should look to for some advice on making a turbo honda reliable on the track.

It will not be cheap or easy and there will be a lot of trial and error involved but you would be wise to learn from what he has already been through.

I have been looking at those guys' threads...

My main concern right now is over heating, i have a half core Ebay radiator that works great for just driving around but doesn't work well on track days... I bought an intercooler core that i am going to use as a radiator, just need to make the end tanks and mount it.

The car makes about 400whp @ 10 psi so boost wise it is pretty low, it runs on E85 always and might be running on E100 next year since i am upgrading my fuel system... EGT's are a good amount lower on Ethanol...
