Default no vtec signal????

Did a h22 swap to my brothers CB7 2 door and for some odd reason im getting no vtec signal off the ECU now what i mean is no 5 volt reference at key on directly off the ECU , now he did some of the wiring and wired the O2 heater 12+ volt to white wire with green stripe wich is a common ground for a few important sensors i did not know about this till recently when he got pissed and threw his hands in the air and said he was settin fire to it , then i found the issue and fixed it now with my experiance in other cars and electrical issues wouldnt this cross wore screw up the input signals or screw something up internal on the ECU all im gettin is nothing at key on right off the ECU pin A4 for vtec and it codes for loss of signal to vtec solenoid code 21 any suggestions , A friend in memphis said to wire it to a rpm switch but im more of a fan of not hackin **** up ........suggestions ?????

Sounds like you've done a swap before but when I did mines I didn't realize that the guard on the connector actually pops open, allowing you to slide the pin in without having to "jam" it in. When I jammed mines in, it got mangled and still wasn't making a connection when I put the connector into the ecu. I really learned this the hard way. Not sure if you have the pin all the way in.

Hahahaahhahahahaha, I know that feeling. One time I was trying to get a leaf spring to set on a chevy P30, Ive never been more pissed off in my life...

But to answer your question, you can damage the ecu by not connecting the right wires. Like where there is supposed to be a ground signal, and you plug in a positive signal it could blow circutes.

Best bet is open the ecu and look for burnt things

Thanks for the replies, I know about the flip open did that and tried to test the end of the new pinout and length of wire = no 5v reference so i pulled it out of the socket and rechecked off the pin itself inside the connector = no 5v signal again , all i can think of is when he cross wired the Heated 12v O2 signal into the white/green-stripe wich is a ground wire for the TPS O2 ECT and a few others it may have shorted out the ECM but with the circuit path the Vtec is not on that path , Now it may be connected someway somehow via the board but on this note im unsure. But its the only direction i have to go in at this point but all the other sensors on that ground line are in perfect reading order so WTF? anyways ill keep my ears open and if i come up with anything ill let you know and if any of you need any wiring help let me know or swaps.....Mike
