just wanted to make sure this was it before i spent the 178.00 on a new one. my speedo was working fine and then all of a sudden driving its pinned at 20mph while driving. if i come to almost a complete stop it bounces around between 17mph and 25mph and when i start driving again it goes back to 20mph

Check your ECT ground wire at the thermostat and look for corrosion on your VSS connector.

 

thanks checked the ground, and also pulled plug looked fine

 

Problem still remains? You can try a different working VSS. Depending on which motor you have the D and B series Vss should be interchangeable if I remember correctly.

 

Is your Check Engine light on?

 

no check engine light, i picked up a used vss for 10 buxs. so going to throw it in and see if it fixes it
