Default bought a new oilpan with gasket. replace the gasket?

stripped my oilpan. bought a new oilpan that came with the gasket in it. but should i get a new one? or should i keep the one in there and just use RTV (room temperature vulcanization silicone) sealant and put her on there? aluminum pan.

for what it matters, stock d16y8 in a 1996 civic ex coupe

Why wouldn't you put a new one on? If you're already there why not?

Replace the seal, while your there.

It's going to really anyonying if you have to drop the pan again in 2 weeks becuase it's leaking.

if it was some what new, I would say no, go ahead and re-use it. More then likely, it's the orginal.

$27 isn't that bad. If you can wait for it, look at majestichonda, or hondapartsunlimited.com.
