right after i start up my car it shuts off..then i have to restart it again...sometimes it struggles to crank back up...iv replaced spark plugs, fuel filter, and new dizzy..i had this problem when them motor was in my integra and im still having this problem after i swapped it into my civic....any ideas?

 

Check fuel pressure, and check the main relay...

 

if you give it gas will it start? or stay on?


if so my brothers gsr was doing this it would start and turn right off. but if he would give it little gas itll stay on.

I replaced his IACV and it starts and idles just like from the factory.

 

i had this problem too turned out to be the hose clam to the fpr not being tight enough.

 

Forgot about that ^ definately try cleaning it, if it doesn't fix it then replace it. Also try the adjustment screw.

Or when you turn the key all the way forwar it fires then when you let the key go back to the 3rd position it dies? If so then it's the ignition switch.

 

thats exactly what it does...sometimes when i start it up and leave my foot on the gas pedal it will stay on..it just needs that 1 big rev when the motor starts and it will stay on..

 

Idle air control valve FTW!

You can get it off and b or d series as long as its Multi Point Fuel Injected.

The plugs are the same. Just to be sure. get it off an obd-1 vehicle

 

and ignition switch

 

Check the distributor, might be the rotors or the cap itself, replace mines and runs like a champ.

 

i have brand new dizzy with cap and rotor and it still does it..

 

change the damn idle air control valve dude!!!!
