Default Sand In Valve Cover..HELP!

So i just got my valve cover back from being sand blasted at a powder coating shop. And when i got it back a shitload of sand fell out when i picked it up! I dont think the shop masked off any of the holes on the cover! Should i just wash it out with water, put it in my dishwasher, use an air compressor and blow it out, use a solvent to get off the grime which the sand sticks to or am i screwed and I should just buy a new one? Any advice???

Blow it out with air first. The water will only make the media stick to the insides of the cover. Since the baffles on MOST honda covers are rivetted, you need to be VERY careful. After you pushed through some decent air THEN give it a good rinse with a hose, tilting the cover to allow for water to flow everywhere and move the media around and out of the cover.

This is pretty bad IMO. Be VERY careful.

That's awful. Your blaster needs to mask/plug them or you should prior to sending them out. It's gotta be less work to mask than it is to drill/re-tap.
