Default 1994 Honda Del Sol Troubleshooting

Basically, the car has problems communicating with the fuel pump and also occasionally turns off while on the road. When I turn the key to the on position, the fuel pump doesnt turn on, so car wont turn on. But when it does decide to turn on, you can hear the fuel pump, then the car turns on. It only has about 115,000 miles. Here is what we have done:

-Change the fuel pump to a brand new one.
-Tested with a new main relay (back to the old one)
-Cleaned the battery
-tested the wires to the fuel pump with OBD, reads fine
-ECU codes read numbers 3 and 7 but find that irrelevant to problems with the fuel pump.
-Cleaned sensors
-Tested old and with new distributor. Doesnt fix the problem.

Miscellaneous
-Starter was changed a couple months back, it failed so we had to change it
-Had to disable security system (wore out and wouldnt allow us to turn on the car)
-oil change was done 3 weeks ago; fuel injector was cleaned. A week later, the car failed; dont find it relevant either.

Ive had recommendations to check the igniter. How does that work? We will be testing it with a new ECU today.

I had the same problem with a 93 del sol.
Replacing the ECU cured it.
My old ECU had oxidation on the outside of the case. I guess moisture got to the circuit board.

havent had this problem with either of my del sols but wouldnt be surprised to hear moisture getting into the ecu, as sols are known for leaking (sometimes under the dash area which would put water right next to the ecu)

Have you checked your clutch safety switch?? But I guess the pump would prime if that was the problem!

super late response but the distributor was the culprit in this problem.

Hopefully it helps anyone with this problem

^Conflicting information and...

...The fuel pump would still prime even if you unplugged the distributor.
