Hi I was wondering if anyone knows how I can fix my climate settings so I can change it to the front windshield defrost. Currently it only blows air out of the vents even if I change it to any other setting it won't change.

If anyone has any info that would be great, thanks

I will assume 91 Honda Civic, so the first thing I would check is the mode control motor, [push button mode control] or air mix cable on left side of heater box, can be seen from under drivers side of dash.

Or if equipped the mode control cable, [lever type mode control] normally on the right side of heater box, probably will have to remove glove box to see it.

Either way, mode control is a number of levers/arms/cams/lingage rods all connected together, with either a cable or motor attatched to one "end" of it, it is pretty easy to see what is wrong. 94

alright is there a fuse that could be possiby blown that is making it not work?
or is there way to test it so i would know if that is what needs replaced?

Fuse 17 - 7.5A, [hot in run] in under dash fuse box is power for mode control motor, [black/yellow at the mode control motor].

Do the mode buttons light up when you press them?

If not check the ground, same one as the black at the mode control motor. 94

 

yes the mode button lights do light up when i try and switch them. they just dont switch.
it doesnt make any noise either like its trying to switch modes.
Im going to check out that fuse tonight and let you know what i find out. hopefully that is all it is. thanks
