What's up everybody. Ive been on HT for awhile but never really posted anything, and i must say the information that i obtain is very very helpful and i thank everyone who takes the time to develop these threads. Alright.. Im gettin bored with my 2010 corolla and decided i am bringin the EGg out to be my DD. What i need help with is choosing spark plugs, also if my dizzy or plug wires need to be upgraded. I know you need colder plugs for a boosted engine, i was lookin atthe ngk8's. im just lookin for suggestions/guidance. Also what yall think about my setup n if there is anything i should do to it or any suggestions at all.
My setup:
I bought the civic about 3-4 years ago and it was boosted before i got (did not come wit turbo) but i know that the engine has after market rods, pistons and valvetrain with an AEM adjustable cam gear. Again not sure of the brand. (Cannot get ahold of the guy who built the engine)
-edelbrock performer x IM with p2r gasket
-skunk2 alpha series TB @ 66mm.
-ebay intercooler + ic piping, i think it may be at 2.25 for diameter. I can the measurements if yall want.
-greddy bov
-14b turbo @ 9psi but thinkin about steppin up to 11psi/ stealthmode kit
-hf manifold + adapter plate
-b&m commandflo adjustable FPR
-walbro 255 high flow, maybe 195 i forgot what i ordered and installed lol
-ebay exhaust, i think its 2.25 maybe 2.5 not sure again i can get measurements
-dsm 440's
I was runniing the car off of a basemap from a chipped p06, not the smartest idea but i willllll be getting a tune @profunction in a chicago suburb.
The car currently doesnt run because the battery is dead. So ill be gettin a new battery and an oil change. (Any suggestions on oil weight and brand??)

Also my oil inlet is rubbing on the HF so i jus wrapped the steel braided line with some heat reflection **** or whatever yu call it. I was wonderin if i could get like an 'elbow' adapter for my oil inlet going into the turbo. I heard 14b's are a bitch to clock. Ill probably upgrade the clutch and flywheel at some point as well.. any suggestions on that??? In a couple months ill b slappin on a z6 head that will be fully built and then re-do the block and all. If i didnt specify i have a d16a6

Hopefully.. i would jus like to kno what others are runnin in their car and how well does it perform. Then i would develop a list of the recommended in order to figure out what is best for my whip.
also if my dizzy or plug wires need to be upgraded
Remember that you will have to close the spark plug gap some to get a good strong spark through the increased A/F mixture (stock is .044" probably to about .038" to see how it runs).
If you do upgrade the coil and wires then you can run a little wider spark plug gap.
Looking at your setup, I'm guessing you might be able to get about 230hp out of it (14b is pretty weak and that exhaust and manifold are going to held it back a bit).
NGK recommends one step colder for every 75~100hp added.
1 step colder should be fine
Sweet, thanks. Yeah in time the manifold/turbo combo is going to be upgraded along with the exhaust. I chose the 14b because it was a small quick spooling turbo. 230 sounds great. I was lookin for 210 since stock is 106whp so im glad to hear around 230whp. Thanks for the info. Ill jus grab the ngk bkr7e n gap to. 040 to start. And then upgrade the ignition system when i upgrade for more power. Thanks for the info, its exactly what i needed to kno
