advice on buying a prelude!
Hello guys, im new to this forum and to owning a honda, i am currently looking at purchasing a 2000 prelude sh, they are asking 4k obo. its 5 speed
101k miles, tokedo coil over springs, DC ceramic headers, moteg racing rims 17", AEM cold air intake.. im really not worried about all of the aftermarket stuff, as i will probably build it the way i want it anyway. what do you guys think? Worth 4k?

The aftermarket stuff doesn't add any value, so don't worry about it like you said. I guess that price is OK if the body and interior are really good.
Do you want the SH over the base model for some reason?

Well, if you want to build it, the SH has many hurdles for doing anything serious. Check the FAQ page....it has ATTS which changes the block and transmission.

Not a bad price if you plan to keep all the aftermarket stuff on it.
Pretty good quality parts he already has installed.
If you want a diff set of rims I'd suggest asking him to take them off and lower the price.

What kind of build are you trying to accomplish? power? handling? daily driver? Just a few questions to point you in the right direction depending on your build desire. 4K isnt so bad..as long as the body is in good shape and no serious damage externally or internally..motor wise.

Modding an SH is more difficult than a base model because of the ATTS, but it can be done.
Its not so much that building an FI setup is different, its just that once you break your tranny you'll have a fun time replacing/repairing it. You're better off dumping the block and tranny for a base model.
