So I'm moving out to SoCal in '12, and I've seriously considered selling my Civic Si before moving. Perhaps I'm just concerned my car can/will be targeted for theft, which I presume the EG chassis is still on the "Greatest Hits List" with thieves. Understand I presently live in an area where people don't know a Honda Hatchback from a Honda ATV.

Obviously common sense is one of the main defenses. Leaving it in shady areas, parked outside and exposed to passerby's, etc don't help. Garage it if possible. But I've heard of people in nice areas still getting their Civic's stolen from their home property, work, shopping, and even inside jobs from tow companies. Sometimes in broad daylight.

My question is what measures have many of you California Civic drivers taken to prevent/deter your vehicle from being stolen? Am I overreacting and just need to use common sense? Are battery backups, multiple sirens, multiple wheel locks, removable steering wheels & more really worth the investment?
