I am a military member stationed in iceland and I want to be able to bring my baby (1997 Civic SI) back with me, money is not the big issue really because i love this car do any of you know of a hop that can change the specs, the car transportation people on this island are of NO help. i have 9 months or so till my next command HELP!!

if you are in the military then you need to check with the military. they can ship the car for you back to the states. maybe even free!

I'm in the marines and have been told that it can be done for real cheap...but it will have to be approved by us saftey standards...not sure how that is done though..your command should be able to put you in the right direction though when it comes to talking to the right people before you go from where you are....good luck

the people at the transportation department are useless... no military members at all working there, just icelandic citizins. I am trying indy import perfomance a shop in my hometown if when i get back to the states Ill have them help me bring it up to par

They do. But getting it legalized is a whole different story. TMO and trans people are generally worthless when it comes to that. Call up a company like motorex or one of those places that import cars from japan and legalize them and see what all would be involved in getting the civic legalized.
I'm in a whole different boat. I brought my car here and was thinking about selling it to a portuguese guy a while back. He was offering me 15,000 Euro CASH for it. Then when he found out what it would take to convert it to euro safety spec he changed his mind.
So do some digging on google.
