This is our first venture into the ground up construction of a purpose built race car, and with the knowledge and resources I have attained over the last 3 years working for a race team we are finally ready to take the leap.
The car is being built for a client per say, my girlfriend and her father. After racing a Spec Miata in SCCA for the last 2 seasons with the team we work for they (and myself) were finally fed up with the poor design, poor reliability, and overall dissapointing experience with the Miata and the class in general. After weeks of convincing her father that we could make a FWD chassis a class dominator, he bit the bullet and purchased the 2002 RSX-S you will see in a bit.
The car will be built to compete in SCCA Improved Touring R class, and will also compete in the SCCA PRO IT series. The whole build will be done by myself, my girlfriend, and my good friend/coworker/SHG member Mike. Ill be doing the cage, fabrication, chassis setup, and most of the build while Mike will be in charge of building the transmission and engine tuning. And since it will mostly all be done in my home garage it will truly be a SoHonda Garage race car through and through!
Here is the original thread, please subscribe and check it out as we are updating it consistently! I wont be posting updates here as there is no reason for a sister thread, but I just wanted to give the road race community a heads up on the build
The car is actually going to the shop today and Ill be starting work on the cage this week!

Power to weight ratio along with a nice setup should be a pretty good run at a championship.
Good luck d00d! And tell your girlfriend and her dad to come back out and slum with us autocrossers again!
