Default First time at the Drag Strip and hell happened to me......

I was doing time trials and towards the end of the track in 4th gear already, my engine just shut off so I think I was out of fuel...then I get towed back and put in fuel but still nothing. Then one of my friends who is a mechanic sees what happened. My camgears slipped about 4-5 teeth while in gear!!!?! WTF... So I'm pretty screwed right now. Anyways, we put every thing back to normal and fired it up but now there is a small tick(I drove home like that and stayed under 3500 rpm). What do you guys think got screwed up and why did it jump like that? Lucky for me there was people out there that went out of their way to help me out

you probably bent a valve... When the gears slip that much, its pretty easy to do..

What kind of cam gears are you using?

Were you powershifting?

Bent valves. I was only off one tooth and I bent all the intake valves and 4 exhaust valves with the stage 2's.

Got off the phone with my mechanic today...bent all of the exhaust valves. I've got Skunk2 cam gears but I don't believe that was the problem. I think the belt tension was not quit tight enough because with futher inspection, I saw that the tensioner bolt was kind of stripped on the head so they were unable to tighten the belt fully. I am going to have that replaced also.

Oh, also while on the valve topic, I have to option to use Ferrea SS or stock ITR valves for basically the same price. What should I get?
