Default only half the dashlight working ep3

I have an 02 sir hatch. since i've bought it i've had only half my gauge cluster lit up and all my heater controls and stuff arent lit up. I've searched and searched and it seems to be a pretty common problem.

Just to get it straight ALL BULBS ARE GOOD AS WELL AS THE FUSES

I saw someone said something about the board being fried in the cluster and that it could be fixed by soldering a jumper wire, can anyone point me to a write up or anything about that.

Did you physically change the bulbs so you know they are good.

If so buy yourself a volt meter and test for power at the bulb.

Since I don't have that car I haven't done to much research on it. But I did have a problem similar to it and fixed it in the way you were asking/referring too. I connected a power wire from the other side and made my own power basically.

You should see if you can find the power wire color for the dash harness and then see if that has power. If so just place a wire from the harness to the bulb socket.

Didn't think of that, i guess that would work lol. Hopefully i can just put power to one wire and make the lights for the heater control work. Lets hope i dont fry anything

There probably isn't much power going through those wires. So I wouldn't be worried about frying anything. Hell for a couple of weeks I had my brake lights ghetto rigged to a toggle switch

this what happens to my car when i failed putting on my fogs, anyway this is how you solved it you can get a new cluster but your mileage will not be accurate, doing some kind of soldering iron to fix it which i didnt cause it looks complicated or you can try the solution that i did just get a wire any kind of copper wire cut open (exposing then copper wire) the both ends and put the end on the working light's socket then put the bulbs in and stuck the wire in (which where the electricity still active and run) then put the other end on the non-working light (on the fried board) and viola you'll be suprised that everythings works fine again and i had for over a year now and i never had any problems and less effort too
