Default Are no name lowering springs okay to use?

Hi, i'm a new honda owner, and i was thinking of lowering my car. I was just wondering, if i was on a budget, would no name springs be bad for my car?

Yes.
What are the specs on them other than they are cheap?
Spring rates? Warranty? Composition? Etc...
All springs are not just coiled up metal as most people like to believe.
If you cannot answer these questions then don't do it.

Or you're probably just asking to feel good about your purchase since you're going to get them anyway.

What is your budget? What are you looking to do with the car? Slam? Mild drop? Track? Daily?

@Libertariat Thanks! nice thread, i see what you mean by saying spend big now instead of buying crap then upgrading.

@grumblemarc Well it's my daily so i dont wana slam it. As for my budget, i'm looking at around 250ish? if that's the case, would u say i should just wait til i can drop 600 on suspension?

I would. You will not regret being patient when you actually get that quality product in your hands.

Be patient. I know exactly how you feel. I make $9/hour between my two jobs and I pay for my tuition/rent/retirement/bills, etc. It takes a while to save up and buy quality parts but it is SO WORTH IT. Trust me, I've bought junk parts before and done stuff half-assed. You will be miserable just like I was. Grumblemarc can tell you the same, haha. A lot of his current problems stem from doing stuff half-assed before just like many of us on these boards.

Yup. Everyone goes through those stages and we really try to help people avoid the mistakes we've made.

Currently I have no issues with my car past the cosmetic.

With a daily driver and the reliability a factor where you do not have a 2nd car to rely on or if something was to occur I would stick with springs. In my past history when I did not have a second car I used Eibach springs and loved them. The drop was minimal, around 1" and it did do wonders on the handling. At that time, circa 2001, I used the stock shocks. A 2000 car with 100K miles I would not recommend the same now. You should look to replace the shocks as well. Eibach springs are a few hundred bucks, but shocks will eat up a good amount of cash. In anycase if you or you pay someone to replace them, do them both at the same time, shocks and springs.
