Removing Tint
I recently just bought a 92 civic dx hatch with some purple-ish tint on it and I want it off. I was thinking of just taking it off with a razor blade but I heard that if I do it to the back window it'll mess up the rear-defrost. Is there any way I can avoid this problem? Thanks!
Razor blade all the windows but the rear. Use water and alcohol or adhesive remover to get the glue off. As for the back. I've heard if you spray it with water then tape up a trash bag on a really hot day and it will melt the glue
^what he said. Ive never tried water but I have tried windex and a trash bag and works unbelievably well. The hotter the day the better. Make sure you use plenty of windex and then throw a black trash bag over it(cut the bag to make it cover the whole glass). Get as much of the air pockets out as you can, a long sleeve shirt makes this easier. tape of the ends and let it sit for about and hour maybe 2 on a not so hot day. Pull off the tape and trash bag and wallah! The film should peal rite off. Mite have to use the razor to get some of the tint left on the edges.
Go to walmart and buy a $20 steamer it works like a charm, tint comes right off with the glue. The longest part is waiting for the steamer to heat up
Then you can steam clean the seats and carpet as well! But really its the best way to do it, ive done it a lot
