Default Tacho Problem

I installed a "Super Pro" pos tach today and it wont go past 2k rpms it's strange.
It lights up, moves from idle to 2k then stays at 2k.
Should I remove it and get a new one?

Do you have a tachometer in your original gauge cluster? Does that go over 2,000?
