If you want good top end and decent spool on that ls motor for the street, I would go with this trim:

.63 A/R Turbine Housing
Stage III Turbine

.50 A/R Compressor
50 Trim compressor

the .50 compressor is a option now only on the new garrett turbos from what i hear though, but not much of a price difference

i agree. except, i think you'll be fine with the 57 trim the comes in them.
you'll appreciate the 57 trim more down the road, as everyones low boost turbo project seems to always "snowball" into bigger and bigger boost... lol

no, that isnt the a/r size of the compressor housing, i was refering to the trim of the wheel.
the .63 a/r stage 3 wheel turbine and 57 trim .60 a/r compressor is equivalent to what comes with the drag gen 3 kit.
you might want to talk to people that run the drag kit, and see how they like the response they get from this turbo. IMHO this setup on a b18b is a bit laggy in first, but has a very nice 2nd gear up...put simply.
if your certain your not looking for more boost, or it will be awhile til your looking to boost more, and want a faster spooling turbo. i would suggest the smaller turbine housing, the .48a/r. you can always upgrade the housing at a later time. we sell the .63 a/r garrett turbine housing for $159 shipped.

Good choice...it's the set up i have. I think it's the best choice for the B18B. Not much Lag; you get approx. 5 psi of boost by 3k rpm and full boost by 4300-4500...depending on what your boost controller is set at.

doodoo: how much boost are you running???

so the t3/t04e with .63 A/R Turbine Housing
Stage III Turbine

.50 A/R Compressor
50 Trim compressor

sounds like it is liked a lot! i want a little lag for traction purposes and too pull until around 7000.

how much will this turbo run??? and what kind of numbers will i see with this setup?? thanks again everyone!

i just sent you a pm
i suggest a larger compressor, like a 57 trim with a .60 a/r or even the 60 trim with the .60a/r
we have a group buy going on these, for $525 shipped.

If you have big plans for your motor, I would suggest like CHEAPTURBO says and go with the .57 compressor. .50 compressor is good around the 325-350 hp range. Plus $525 shipped for .57 compressor housing that CHEAPTURBO is selling, thats a awesome price. If your worried about spool, there will be other ways in the long run to make it up. IMO, you want the top end power trust me.

I've got a DRAG Gen III, I love my T04E. It does have a bit of lag, but honestly I like it that way. If you drive easy you'll never spool it up. Saves gas and save a big surprise for the guy next to you. Drive it with just a little enthuisasm and you'll never have to get past 4K in traffic....spool up is perfect for an LS that is daily driven IMO.

Well i got 270 hp 229 ft/lbs w/ about 11 psi on my b18b w/ the T04b compressor housing. I loved it, it hit full spool by 3800 rpms and thats w/ a small greddy 2.25 inch exhaust!

I've got a B wheel on my car as well. Its a .63 stage 3 exhaust with a B35 trim compressor wheel inside a .60 B housing. the wheel is pretty big , looks kinda like a 60-1 wheel, but the housing looks like an oversized T3 housing. I've got full boost in the mid 3k range and I put down 250 hp and 223 ft lbs of torque on 9 psi. I love the way it responds.

what kind of numbers will i pushing with this turbo 2 1/2" exhaust with a apex'i N1
450 cc dsm injectors on v-afc hack on 9 psi of boost????

and i was thinking of going hondata but i dont want to convert to obd-1, im in california and smog stuff sucks!!! but what other options od i have whats compataable with obd 0 and i can tune myself.......i will get it dyno'd but i like to tune my own car too!!!

You'll get bitten by the boost bug soon enough

It's all in the tuning here, but prolly in the neighborhood of 230~250 whp tuned well.

I've got one word for you my friend -- Zdyne -- THE odb-0 standalone, http://www.zdyne.com, check it, call em, get yourself one. I've got a killer tune for turbo LS's, dailed in with wideband street tuning.

Oh man Speed, you hit the nail on the head!! Just hold it in third while in traffic...about 3K....wait....3500.....wait......hole in traffic.....pedal down ***** to the wall!! WOOOoooo!!! I drive around now with open DP and its a wild, noisy ride!!
The top of the power band is really fun, much more than a NA LS. I think so even when I had cams and headwork waiting for turbo.

just for lag comparison.

I am running a T3/T04e 57 trim/.60AR w/ stage 3 exhaust wheel/.63AR. In combination w/ a 3" exhaust and turbo XS "hp" manual boost controller.

I start spooling around 2800rpm, I get 8psi about 3700rpm and I can see 1bar at 4400rpm. put the car in 2nd at 40mph and hit the gas. Lag is not an issue at ALL!
