Icon2 windshield wipers stopping half ways

When I turn on my wipers to the first click on the signal switch, they stop at the top of the wndshield (sometimes half ways in the windshield), wait like 10secs, and then go back down to their original position and the same thing again. Does anybody have any idea why this happens, or is that the way civic wipers are supposed to work? If not, any ideas on how I can fix them?

Pull off the wipers and the plastic cowl and check the wiper motor and linkages.

How do the wipers behave in the 2nd (low) and 3rd (high) positions?

At the second position, they behave the same way but stop much less, the 3rd and on they're fine

Sounds like the switch then.

I'm thinking the motor is the problem because the intermittent and low settings both use the low motor. You can bypass the switch by grounding the low and intermittent wires to verify.

I never realized there were essentially two motors. I was just under the assumption that when you flciked that switch it just got fed more power.

I had something similar happen (they would also park in the middle of the windshield sometimes). Replaced the motor (came with linkage from eBay for $25) and it solved everything. I heard the parking switch breaks and causes this problem.
