Default which cap and rotor?

ok dumb question..

i have a distributor that is stamped TD-81U which from my findings is a 99-00 Si DOHC Civic. i have an OBD1 GSR engine and trans in my 95 del sol, when i compare pt# at autozone it says the 1995 GSR cap and rotor will not fit the 99-00 Si and vice versa.

so what do i get? the 99-00 si cap and rotor (since the distributor housing is TD81U) or the 95 gsr. i must be overlooking this but...

Well if you have the b16a2 distritbutor, go with the parts for it. This is what I would do.

Also, go with OEM, not that autozone stuff.

Hmm good question. It is possible to swap the guts of it to the other.

Cap and rotor from 99-00 Civic Si:

#2 in pic = Cap - 30102-P54-006 ($17.34)
#3 in pic = Rotor - 30103-P08-003 ($15.82)

I took this from HONDA AUTOMOTIVE PARTS.COM <-- Clickable

Don't get Autozone CRAP parts please. You walk into a dealership with the part numbers and there is no doubt that your parts will fit, and thus not need to be returned. Or order them from the link I just posted. Hell print screen the page and your local dealership will likely match the prices I just listed if you print screen the actual page from the website I linked.

What i would do is go to a Orileys or autozone grab a distributor cap and rotor for a Si see if it fits and if it does return it and get OEM just to make sure

si cap and rotor. it doesn't matter if you have an obd1 or 2 distributor, since there is nothing different with the cap and rotor.

i was saying an obd1 gsr vs obd2 gsr is the same cap. so obd1 b16 and obd2 b16 are the same cap.

so get a 99-00 si cap.
