Blow-by can be caused by a lot of things- bad rings, valves, carbon buildup, something in the emission system. Try a top-end cleaner and pull the codes.

*Don't drive it like that or you'll need a new engine.

Your having an intake valve stick open and the gases are going back to your intake and the combustion is traveling out through your intake.

Timing seems to be on point, so i don't think it is that but it is the thing that has been altered. It sounds better at higher RPM like it isn't misfiring at all. It's just a pop here and there at idle

Could it be something with the dizzy? It was fine before we transferred it over. The plug wires are in the right order, the timing is *right* the only problem could be that the motor was sitting for awhile, and there are a couple sensors unplugged/possibly not working

it will have nothing to do with the distributor. Everything the other guy said about the blow by is correct, listen to what he has to say. One of those is the cause. And valve timing wouldn't be a reason a valve is sticking open. So your timing could be dead on and still have a valve sticking.

Could also be as simple as a lash adjustment all it would take is one exhaust valve adjustment too tight, [valve stays open a little] "fire in the hole" 94
