Hey guys. I bike and ski quite a bit, and finally (after years of folding the rear seats down) bought myself a Yakima roof rack. Installed it last night per the instructions. There seems to be quite a gap created by the clips (see pic below). Did I install this right? I did verify that the q-clips were the right ones (Q15). The wind noise from this gap is very noticeable at highway speeds. The doors are also harder to shut and open.

when you have the locks off, is there an alan nut that needs to be tightened?
I ask cause I had a similar set up and the nut needed to be tightened to the point where I thought the clip would break..

 

The only allen nut I had tighten was on the tower, which secures the bar. Nothing on the clip--it's just held on by the lock.

 

wear can i find tis roof racks ? and what to the run in price ?

 

It usually bends out the weatherstripping a little bit but that fitment looks particularly poor. Wind noise is present, but minimal. I don't have a Yakima rack, though - mine is an old Terzo unit. Same principal though.
