Default Newbie to boost questions

Okay, so I'm sure I'm gonna get flamed, but whatever, I kinda need to get these questions answered, and searching isn't helping at the moment.
So, I intend to build a ls/vtec in my teg here soon, to boost somewhere at 25-30 Ibs, probably with a 6262, but what I'm worried about is my transmission.
What is there to reinforce transmissions? Or will a LS transmission with adequate clutch/flywheel setup be able to hold up toooo it?

whatever I make on 25-30 ibs, I'm going for a boost goal not a hp goal. It should be somewhere in the 600s though.

u need a good differential and good clutch.. the actual gears themselves will hold up if u be easy on the trans.. when u start shifting it hard making that much power it will break.. but the diff is the weak link in most honda trans..

Using Boost as a means of a goal is juvenile. Do you want 600whp, or not? Then shoot for that, not 25-30-50 psi

Only if you plan on circuit or road racing. If you're drag racing, use a helical like a Quaife or MFactory.

If its gonna be a "street racing" car should I stick with the sir tranny in my car, or go with a ls tranny so I'll be in boost longer

quaife all the way.. kaaza wont hold up to that much power.. ls gears are probably to long for what u are planning, id go with a gsr trans or what u already have..

Very simple. A turbocharger is basically an air pump that creates pressurized air at a rate of lbs/min. Different sizes create different airflow rates from the same amount of boost pressure. 20psi of pressure from a GT35R (61lbs/min) is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than 20psi from a T3/T4 50 "trim" (49lbs/min). One will create over 430whp, the other will only make 350whp. But guess what? same 20 psi of pressure.

he is very right.. u need to set a hp goal not boost goal.. u can turn up the boost as high as u like but if the turbo isnt efficient enough to handle the psi u are wasting your time.

Totally agree with you. To the op thats why i asked what your hp goals were cus like TheShodan said boost really means nothing and it's hard to tell what steps you'll need to take in terms of your tranny with out knowing your hp goals. Now 600hp first off is gonna be really rough and not much fun on the streets have you ever even driven a high hp honda or FWD car on the street ? mean like 400 and beyond ? Traction usually becomes an issue. Generally speaking you'll have more fun and almost be faster with less hp (on the street) Now at 600hp can your tranny hold that power probably for a limited time. How you drive will determin a lot. If you plan on racing (shifting hard, launching,) at 600hp it's gonna get expensive

LOL you have it backwards. You need to start with a HP goal different turbos on different engine setups will yield different HP results.
