1995 Acura Integra LS Help.
Hey Honda-Tech, I just bought a 95 Integra LS and It's kind of a fixer upper. So the thing im worried about right now is the heater and the Idle. Before i bought the car, the heater was fine but the AC was not. I told the owner to fix the AC before i bought it and he did. So the AC works now, but the heater does not. I was driving around 2 AM in the morning and it's really freezing and I have no heater. Also, For the Idle, When I'm switching gears around 5-6k then im at idle, The RPM is jumping randomly from 1-2k RPM and it's revving. If there is any solution to any of this, I'd greatly Appreciate it. Please leave any helpful info on the comment. And I know, some people might tell me to search it but I'm not really good at using the search engine on the forum. Thanks again!

If no HEAT... Is the heater control valve hooked up to its cable? Take a look under the hood at the firewall, just to the passenger side of the middle of the car. There are two hoses about an inch in diameter together near the bottom of the firewall. Spliced into one of them is the heater control valve. The cable has a tiny loop that slips over a stud on the metal arm on the control valve. Sometimes this gets removed and nobody notices.
When the heat is ON, the valve's metal arm will be aligned with the hose.
When the heat is OFF, the arm will be perpendicular to the hose.
If it's the FAN that doesn't work, post back here.
Does the idle cycle up and down, up and down, up and down, up and down, regularly? Like this: REV-drop-REV-drop-REV-drop-REV-drop...?
Do you have any resistance on your 'hot-cold' little adjuster? The one that goes from left to right?
If you can push it from left to right with almost zero effort, its probably unhooked. Stick your head under the passenger side kick panel, look for a long wire with a o at the end
-----o
and attach it to the thing it goes over

Okay, thanks guys, Ill take a look at it in the morning, I haven't been able to work on the car since ive been at work. @Subteggy, this might sound kind of stupid, but is the picture inside the car or outside? Like is it where the passanger sits, Move the carpet? Or outside where i jack the car up and take a look?
And the Idle, It only happens when I'm driving passed 5k RPM and shifting around 5-6k, During idle it starts to rev 1-2k up and down until i start driving for a while, When i drive regularly, It idle's fine. I heard it's called a rough idle, I'm not sure if it fits the category of a 'rough idle'

the idle thing sounds like you're either low on coolant or your FITV is backed out a little bit. make sure when you turn on the ac that the compressor actually engages and the ac fan turns on. sounds almost like the previous owner might have set the heater controls to cold then unhooked the cables
I did what 'TheRealTegger' told me to do, There is no trace of heat anywhere and I looked under the hood while the car was running and the heater was on full blast, but the fan isn't even moving. I switched it to AC to check if the fan moves and nothing.
Also, @subteggy, I couldn't find that wire, the black 'o'wire. I'm not sure if buried in more cause i didn't remove the dash, but i couldn't find it, i found the switch and it was pretty easy to move, I'm not sure if it's suppose to be that easy.

Haha, okay, you basically have to lie down where the passenger puts his feet, and look UP!
Its like behind the glove box sort of, just lie down where the passenger sticks his feet and look up, you will see it. Get a friend to move the thing from hot-cold to locate it better.

Unplug the electrical connector from the fan motor, and check to see if you have voltage at either of the wires.
If YES, then the fan is seized. If NO, then you have an open between the fan and the ignition switch.
My fault, The fan is working haha, I got the heater working now i hope. I was just missing the hook but if i turned the switch manually, i was able to get cold air and hot air. I guess the owner really did unhook the switch and left it on AC. Thanks for all the help, Now i just gotta figure out my idle.
