Hi i got a 97 civic dx. It bogs really bad like jerking back and forth then the motor shuts off but just the motor, the lights and cd player stay on. When i start the car it will idle for around 30 seconds then it starts bogging and shuts off, sometimes it wont even turn on. Ive been driving this car for a little over a year and this just started to happen. Just put new fuel filter, fuel pump, spark plugs, main relay is good, and fuses are good. Don't know what to do?

sounds like a misfire.
you may wanna do a compression test
things to fix a misfire if that's the case:
check timing
new spark plugs (which you did apparently)
new spark plug wires
new distributor cap and rotor

 

My car is doin the same **** I jus barely built my motor about a year ago N a new fuel pump its been jerking a lot also N jus dies outta no were.....do u have any idea wat it is....

 

Ordered cap and rotor from Honda, should be here by Tuesday. Did a compression test came out 255-250-250-250

 

Doesnt wana start anymore just keeps turning over. New plugs, wires, distributor, fuel filter, fuel pump, compression is across the board, timing is good and has spark but doesnt wana fire up. PLEASE does anybody know what i should do? Really need this car running its my only car.

 

Why are the compression readings so high?

 

Jdm itr with ctr pistons. Im desperate to get this thing running.
