Default idle problem on b16a

swapped a jdm b16a in my 95 teg

it idles at 1500 but when it warms up it begins to idle surge 1500-1550rpm. bad TPS, IACV or vacuum leak?

Also when its cold it takes me sometimes up to 8 times for it to stay idling. it will crank over idle for a second then die, but when it warms up a tiny bit it stays idling. but when warm outside it only takes 2 or 3 times..why does it do this? i appreciate any help.

and when im driving, itll almost two step when i hit 1500rpm, but when i give it half throttle or a little more it will go right past it
thanks

I'd first check the IACV. Understand that you might destroy the T-body gasket doing this.
  • Crimp the coolant lines on each side, pull the throttle body.
  • On the bottom of the T-body, undo the top to the IACV
  • Inside, there's a piece that looks to be a large, white, plastic screw with a flathead relief. Turn this clockwise to tighten.
  • Reinstall (reverse of removal)
  • Start car, wait for the radiator fans to come on while idling to ensure problem has been fixed

first check for vacuum leaks high idle is usually that issue
2nd iacv take it off and clean it
3rd clean your tb as well
4th check for air bubbles in your coolant it cause idle issues as well
5th check your pcv
6th check your ignition if your getting some kind of backfire which makes you think you have 2 step.
