Default a crazy newbie obd2 question help pls.

hi. im getting a aem cai for my 02 ex cpe 5 spd and i have a question. I heard from this forum that if i install aem cai, my obd2 will detect the increased air flow and automatically detune my car by adjusting the a/f mixture so that the performance is down back to factory settings. Is that oh so true!!? if so, is there a way out of it? les say maybe u can reset the ecu and maybe the obd2 will reset too?? any help will be appreciated thank you very much

Yes thats what makes OBDII what it is.

I have instructions on my site on how I disabled its learning.

The learning isnt instantaneous.

Believe it if you wish, but thats why OBDII replaced OBDI.

This is why you have to converto to OBDI to use hondata...the OBDII would just detune your maps.

So do you just leave that switch on all of the time in order to keep performance gains?

Also would the wire you cut be the same color on my car? I only ask because i have not gotten my service manual yet and i could do this sooner if you would let me know.

The switch would be off. You dont want the 12v to get ecu with the car off. You only need to turn the switch "on" if you get a CEL and you need to keep the info before you shut off the car. If you dont switch it on it will be lost when you turn the car off.

I have no idea on the wire color for your car.
