need help no idea whats going on
i drove my integra for the last 3 days and no problems then today i had some hesitation when slightly on the throttle. it started fine and drove it 40 minutes shut it off and came back a few hours later and there was some power but not much and it wouldn't start i could here a constant clicking coming from under the dash weather the clutch was in or not. the fuel pump would turn on and so i tried to crank it and it wouldn't and just drained the battery. finally got it started by pop starting it and drove it for an hour to let the battery charge and then shut it off and absolutely no power what so ever. while i was driving i still had hesitation and i have a voltage gauge and when i push the clutch in it would drop way low and the radio will turn off. also it will turn off it i try to play it loud and the car will skip like it missed when i turn the lights on and when i click the high beams on sometimes... it used to stall when i stopped but i bumped up the idle and it doesn't now but the idle will drop low when i stop and let the rpms drop... whats going on here?? its a b18b1 integra obd2
kind of resembles a failing alternator. use a voltmeter and probe the alternator power lead to the battery ground while its idling, and also at a bit of a rev with all accessories turned on. anything lower than 14.6 i think it is, is not good.
Fully charged battery with the engine off and nothing using power: 12.6VDC
Car running and charging system operating normally, nothing using power: 13.8VDC
Anything over low 14s VDC is probably over charging and will boil off the battery.

Definitely check the main power and grounds, pay close attention the batt. post/clamp ground, batt. to chassis ground and chassis to engine ground, do not just eyeball the connections, disconnect, clean both contact surfaces and reconnect, [even if they "look" good. 94

All good ideas im going to clean the connections today
The gauge says its charging around 13.5 volts
When i drive usually and the lights came on when i first tried but when i tried the second time i had nothing at all.

Also, op, can you let us know how old the alternator/battery are? It just sounds like your using too much juice, so when you turn on any accessory, others are turned off, whether it be your car, or your radio.
From now on, just drive around without using too many electronics until you get this fixed. Dim your interior using the dimmer, leave ur radio off, Dont turn headlights on in the day (I wonder why some people do this), etc.
My guess is alternator. 13 volts seems low . . .
yeah sounds like a bad alternator or even a bad battery too, a bad alternator can ruin a good battery. if the diode ripple is wrong coming from the alternator it will ruin ur battery in a short time, but also definatly check all ur connections to battery and alternator and make sure they are clean, check for anything under the hood that could be shorted to ground. there are so many things that could it could be. it could corrosion of connections in either of ur fuse boxes as well
just went out and pulled the terminal ends and it was completely corroded cleaned them up and everything is all good started right up.
this is the 2nd time ive had to clean it in a week so why does it keep doing that?
i had the alternator checked like 3 months ago and it was good. idk could have gone bad maybe my belt is just loose..

If you pull the battey out and do a 3 minute charge test on it.
Charge it on high for 3 minutes if the voltage goes over 15.5 then your battery is sulfated and will not hold a charge.
To test your altenator, connect to the output of the alt and then to ground with a voltmeter.
When your car is running you should see 12.6-14.5
-If the voltage goes over 14.5v your altenator has a bad regulator and is over charging your battery.
My guess is that you have a failing altenator. You get it started and it will run and then it iwll slowly stop working.
Can get it tested at almost any parts store like, oreilly's.

really not over 14.5.... advance auto said it was more than that i think thats what they said idr its been a bit.. ill have to get it tested. and the battery is pritty old
your alternator could show the proper charging voltage, but the only real way to know if your batter is good is to have a battery/charging system test performed. ur diode ripple could be wrong, your alt. could be putting out too much amperage than needed or not enough
As mentioned, have the charging system/batt. tested, find your local Interstate batt. distributor or retailer, they will do a full load/gravity check on the system and batt. for free, it only takes a few min. 94
